What is Biodiveristy?

 

How would Biodiveristy benefit my farm?

 

What funding assistance is available?

 

An incentive of 80 % up to a maximum of $500 per hectare of the management area is available for protection and enhancement of native vegetation or other activities that improve the natural habitat for local native species.

 

What activities are eligible for this incentive?

 

The activities to be funded under this incentive include: fencing for controlling the grazing of native vegetation areas; enhancement of existing areas by planting seed or seedlings of trees, shrubs &/or groundcover species; expansion of existing areas &/or linking to other areas of native vegetation; deep ripping; weed control; pest animal control; management payment.

 

What are the requirements?

 

  • LWMP compliant Whole Farm Plan
  • A Vegetation Management Outline.
  • Signing of a Site Management Agreement.

 

How do I apply for funding?

 

  • Complete the Application Form (see below).
  • Arrange a site inspection & assessment with the CICL Biodiversity Officer
  • Retain copies of all receipts and documentation.
  • Payments may be made up-front to the landholder after signing a letter of authorisation.
  • Periodic site inspections and quarterly progress reports will be required.
  • If the works are not completed within the due time, the incentive amount will be refunded to CICL and interest will be charged at the company rate.
